90s fashion is making a comeback, but what should stay and what should go?

Nano's, Spice World, pogs, blow-up furniture, and crimped hair. If these things are making you scratch your head then you are probably too young to remember the 90s. And for that, I feel bad for you. On the bright side however, is the fact that a lot of trends from the 90s are making their way back in style and I could not be happier. Just like with every era, there are things that should always be in style and things that are best lost and forgotten about.

Here is my list of the five best trends from the 90s that should stay, and five that should stay buried in the back of a closet.

1. Bandannas

Have I already bought one or two of these and may or may not have worn them already? Maybe.

2. Pleated Skirts

Do not even get me started on how absolutely amazing these skirts are. If you are not sure how to style them, just go to any early season of Friends and take inspo from the ultimate VIPs Monica, Rachel and Phoebe.

3. Overalls

More specifically, overalls with one strap undone. These are taking off in high fashion retail stores everywhere and are sooo cute for any season.

4.  Flare Jeans

This style has been slowly making a comeback in the past few seasons but now these jeans are everywhere and seeing someone in skinny jeans is not as common as it used to be.

5. Platform Flip Flops

I am ecstatic about this trend coming back. I already have two colours of platform sandals and I am anxiously counting down the days until it is warm enough to break them in.

Now for the not-so-exciting. Here are five trends that are better off stuffed in the back of a closet.

1.  Corsets

I have never seen the appeal of these extremely uncomfortable articles of clothing and I am dismayed to see them coming back on the red carpet. Hopefully, the rest of society doesn't catch on.

2.  Fanny Packs

I have never once owned one of these and have yet to find anything alluring about this trend. Even the cool patterns and colours I have seen as of late have not changed my mind.

3.  Tattoo Sleeved Tops

No, just No.

4. Boxy Cardigans

I have yet to figure out a way to style this article of clothing that doesn't make me look frumpy. I am open to suggestions but am not holding my breath.

5. Chain Wallets

Need I say more?

So bring on the '90s and let's rock this summer with the best of the best fashion trends that should always be in style.
