The Proof Of My Love

Wednesday, April 13

By Lane Bashline

Waiting for the buzz of joy

Getting a text, a picture

A piece of your vast universe touches mine

I get a sip of eternity

The universe never tasted so sweet

I can string together words into a web

A web that my life feeds off of

But you're different

You drink the truth

You bring out the real

You don’t string along with the web

You break it in its tracks

Sunlight streams from my heart

In a hyperbolic sense

When you call me pretty In long-winded sentences

Long-winded sentences that swarm my mind

It’s the way you make me feel alive

When I’ve lost all hope
